At Tercios Miniatures, you will find a new range of 28mm miniatures with Ottoman fighters on foot or on horseback but also enough to build an interesting baggage.

But are they 19th century??

Lovely figures with a lot of character! The spearmen and harquebuses make me think siege of Vienna, but some of the figures look like they could be used other centuries, as well.

I think they are for the 17th century.

There is something very strange about these figures but I'm not sure what it is. They look too perfect. I've never seen a white metal casting that clean from any manufacturer even Perry. Are we looking at 3D printed masters maybe?
Take a close look for yourself and you'll see what I mean. Yes they are beautiful but something is just not right but I can't put my finger on it.

Have they had a wash applied?

You only have to look at the shadow beneath each figure to realise these have had much CGI gone into them. Computer enhancement is something you always see in early promotions of Victrix figures, for example.

The effect is edge enhancement, detail stands out (as with a wash indeed) and we must wait to see truly cast figures.

Mind you, they do show what seem to be painted figures in other ranges…and they look superb

I'd like to know more about the different types of Ottoman head-dress.

I've seen the grave markers with model head-dress (signifying the deceased' rank)

The arquebuses let them down.
