No.

And I don't take photos of the ‘this is me in front of a Panther, and this is me in front of a Tiger I" type either. I wait until there is no-one in shot and then I take my photo. Clearly there are people with a different opinion to mine. I'm not saying that one is correct and the other isn't, it's just my preference.

I have to admit I tend to take photos of details of the AFV and maybe some overall pictures rather than getting in the photo. As far as comparing models with the actual tank, I find that easiest to do at home with detailed photos to see what details may be missing or wrong on the model.

One nice thing about the American Heritage museum is that hatches are open on many of the vehicles allowing getting photos of vehicle interiors to some degree. Works especially well for vehicles where you can look almost directly down on them from the second floor walkway/balcony.

Just to be clear, the idea was to put a model on a real version. I already painted the model, I wasn't going to repaint it. At 15mm there's not much different to see. That I am in the shots is just an artefact of the trip.

I agree that the AHM is wonderful – the trip last year was even better this year as the displays have terrain which is well done. Here's last year's trip: link

No wonder you Yanks drive on the wrong side of the road. You can't tell a left fender from the right fender.

Nice catch Jim – just edited about 5 minutes ago!

No problem Mark, just remember to drive on the 'correct' side of the road whether it be right or left.

Get yourself to Bovington one day.

Oh c'mon, how can you tell the scale of the tank if you don't put a figure next to it…? ;-)

Link for restoration of the Littlefield Panther – turret is new replacement for original (with some re-used details and gun/mantlet, I think).
