I couldn't recall what the movie competitor to Battle: Los Angeles was, but found it. Seems Skyline was the one set to be released about the same time as Battle, which created a real stir in some movie circles, back then. I've never seen it, but think it has aired on TV occasionally, but not as often as "Battle". Anyone seen the sequel movie, Beyond Skyline? Reviews seem to indicate it is better, and available on DVD. Some of the images from it look interesting. Hmmm, seems there's even a trilogy – third one is Skylines. Don't know if it's any good, but was apparently released sometime in 2018. |

I'm one of the few who much preferred Skyline over Battle: LA. And I received copious online ridicule for it :-) But my preference still stands! I haven't seen the sequel(s) yet. |

I have seen lots of movies. Some I liked. Some I didn't. Some I just didn't care about. Skyline was one of an elite handful of movies that made me ANGRY! I have seldom seen such a promising premise, relatable characters, solid pacing and above average special effects SQUANDERED so horribly. At just the moment when the story is about to come to fruition, the movie ends abruptly, with "in credit" stills "suggesting" what came after. It was so good. It was on the verge of awesome. And yet it snatched chicken s**t from the jaws of chicken salad. GRRRRRR!!! I knew there was a sequel-ish film out there, but it was simply another story with other characters in the same verse. Pass. Watch Skyline. Try not to throw things at your TV. Whether you want to invest 105 minutes in the sequel is up to you. YMMV |

Actually Beyond Skyline does includes those characters… but they were replaced with a different actress and a cgi character. |

I loved the one little red brain moving along the conveyor line among all the green ones… |

Saw 'Beyond Skylines' first. Took a while watching 'Skylines' to realize it was related and the first of the pair (watched it my brother' and hadn't seen the titles). Not the worst sci-fi I've watched by a long shot. |

Didn't realise they were related – enjoyed them both though. |

Aw, now look whatja done. Now I gotta get the sequel. I'm sure I'm gonna dislike/hate it. I have an internal vision of how the movie should end. But, my need for symmetry requires I see the sequel now. The movies I enjoy the most end the way I expect/want. It is a rare bird indeed that ends in an unexpected manner that I end up liking better. ET. Sixth Sense. Many of the Moffatt Dr. Who's. Some 2nd version BSGs. Off to Amazon… |

Skyline was almost watchable. Beyond Skyline was ten times worse !! |

What did Skyline for me was the alien ship surviving a nuke hit… you can do that (no idea how) and you need our brains? Though in many respects Skyline was better scripted, acted, and too a point, plotted than B:LA. At least B:LA did what it said on the tin. And was relatively internally consistent. |
