Are there any wargamers in the area around Long Beach? I know a gamer who is relocating to the area in the next six weeks and I was hoping to assisting him in linking up with other gamers.

I have several long time gaming friends living in Long Beach area. Also I can connect him to many local gaming groups in Los Angeles/ So California region if willing to travel across the greater LA region. The local chapter of HMGS is called HMGS-Pacific SouthWest. Personally, I live in Northern Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley) so not around the corner for Long Beach but I commonly travel to Long Beach to play ancients or napoleonics at least quarterly.

My direct contact info can be found on my gaming blog Wargamerabbit if your moving friend wishes to contact me direct or post here on TMP with this topic.

Generally I play napoleonics, ancients, FOW V3.0, Wings of War/Glory, Blood & Plunder and a few other periods on gaming occasions. My painted miniature collections rank in size and periods, being myself in the hobby for decades.

What does he play?

Thanks TMPWargamerabbit.

Chasseur: His wargaming tastes are eclectic as mine. I know that he currently has a couple 15mm WW2 armies that were built for FOW but he's looking to move over to Battlegroup and IABSM as well as Chain of Command. He has interests in Moderns, Napoleonics, ACW, Dark Ages, and FIW as well. Pretty much anything historical.

Hello, I am the gamer that Private matter Is speaking of. I do appreciate all of the information so far, and it is nice to know of the verity of historical games in the area. As of right now I'm currently in the middle of painting what I have, and none of it is 28mm (which seems to have a large presence in the area). It may be a while before I can field any forces.

Grimr460, The HMGS-PSW has a convention in September at California State University, Fullerton. That is roughly 25 miles from central Long Beach. That might be a good opportunity to meet some of the local members and friends.
