Avanpost has released a new set of French dragoons. And they are in proper uniform (habit not that ugly bardin thing)
And just as important they are charging.
This set basically fixes my two main complaint with Avenpost.
1. Charging! I need my cavalry charging.
2. More poses, there are 3 different charging troopers together with 3 command) this was another complaint I had, the stiff momo poses.

So yeah, I'm getting these as soon as they are available in metal.(if I can wait that long.

I always thought they worked in resin, not metal. But if I am right, that does not seem to compromise the quality of casting.

Massive conversion potential, as they have not ruined them with slung muskets, folded blankets or water bottles. Keep them simple and fool can add kit. Removing it….impossible.

The TYW range is resin only, the napoleonic is resin and metal, with resin first.
Yes some of the details might get a little lost in the metal versions.
I've only had hands on experience with the resin TYW range.

It takes all sorts: these look to be very nice models, but I prefer more sedate cavalry.

a massive horse, very long legs, it is difficult to find in 28 mm good cavalry in horse to rider proportions, different with AB in 18 mm

If you want sedate cavalry you got these from Avenpost,

Or this guy, is so sedate he can't be bothered to hold the lance, if he gets more sedate he'll fall of the horse.

I personally agree about the sedate cavalry, but he is particularly well modelled and is not just heroically waving his sword around.

Now they also in metals…I did not know that……

Horses are almost impossible to find in 28mm in equine proportions. My Little Pony from some (with Hobbit riders), many makes using the same original with the huge barrel chest and tiny rear, faces far too narrow in others….

I just love those lancers

Having both metal and resin figures from Oleg, I can assure you that the detail is just as good on both.

I also prefer more sedate cavalry. Cavalry were ‘sedate' for most of the time. After all, as LaSalle said, ‘Look at those idiots tearing about exhausting themselves for no reason'

How do you order if you're not on Facebook?

I've ordered twice from him, went perfectly well.

Alternatively contact this store in the UK. None of the napoleonic cavalry is there yet.

Apparently mezzers won't be stocking Avenpost more, when the current stock is gone you'll have to order direct.

Yes, the easiest way is to send Oleg an e-mail saying what you want. He will then tell you the cost with postage. Pay by PayPal and the figures will be there in just over a week all being well. I have done this a number of times with no problem. Oleg is good to talk to and a good source of advice on the Tsar's army.
