1976 for me. WRG 2 or 3 I think. My mostly unpainted Carthaginians against my friend who 'hooked me' and his Persians.

1960 for me. On Tony Bath's kitchen table, with his 30 mm flats, playing a land Battle of Actium, with the linked sea battle on an adjoining table. About 8 -10 of us taking part, including Don Featherstone.

Very cool, Rod.

Around 1969 for me; battle of Thermopylae, using lego bricks to represent Spartans and Persians. This was before I came across rules.

Without rules using Hong Kong artillery that fired matchsticks, on my living room floor – about 1962. With rules in 1966.

Summer 75 using Airfix British and Romans.

Around 1970. Masses of Airfix Romans and Britons, all individually based, with home rules made up from other sets of rules we had.

I want to say 1971 with WRG 2nd, or maybe 1972.

1979, Marathon Florida. walked into a hobby shop a fellow by the name of Joel owned, and he had a Alexandrian Successor Minifig Army under glass. Wanted to learn! Bought a bunch of Atlantic Plastic Romans to paint and mount and start playing. WRG rules.

From the looks of the dates, we are all old now. LOL

Lewisgunner24 Jul 2019 6:11 a.m. PST

1967. Using Airfix figures and those Minifigs that were based on Airfix conversions and with the Tony Bath ‘Society of Ancients ‘ rules.
