Utter drivel I know. I finished the red ones today and the brown ones in 2011. Have I improved, stayed the same, or gotten worse? Considerations: 1) I personally prefer the brown "uniform" to the red one 2) Though the bodies are the same most of the heads are different. Here's the captain as a starter:

I like the older style better because they look like vets. The newer ones appear to be a more civilized town militia. Both play their part well however, so nice job. |

I honestly think they are about the same. It's hard to judge because the camera can lie, but my take is you need to thin your paint more? It just looks very thick. Especially the yellow trim. Secondly, when you edge highlight, go smaller. Some of the edges, like on ammo pouches, look too thick. Narrow those down a bit. Nice looking figures either way, but you did ask. Caveat: I don't like super-contrast on minis. |
