The webpage for Avalon Hill (now owned by Wizards of the Coast) is down today, message about 'maintenance' instead.

Did the real Avalon Hill ever even have a web page? Not to knock Hasbro – who has allowed a number of old AH titles to be reprinted over the years by other companies.

In my deepest internet memories of the late 90s I seem to recall AH having a site of their own. I remember being very tempted by a computer version of Wooden Ships and Iron Men, but I think the site must have disappeared whenever they were bought out. Of course I could just be imagining things. :)

Edit: My memory, for once, has served me well. Here is a link to the Wayback Machineīs listing for AH: link
It has the same url as today. The oldest snapshot is from May of 1997, and it is most definitely a trip down memory lane!

Thanks! I remember that eyesore of a page now! I think it was kinda bad even for 1997.

Yeah, AH never really got into the whole digital thing. I seem to recall the reviews for computer version of WSIM were none too good, but I was still sorely tempted. Itīs all ancient history now!
