Here's some great news.. sort of. Catalyst Games is gearing up to create a new round of Battletech releases based around the Clan Invasion… yay… BUT!!! It will include some really awesome classic mechs!!!
Yup! That's a Marauder and an Archer in that pack. There will also be another pack with the Warhammer and Phoenix Hawk too! Sadly.. it's a Kickstarter. So they will do it if they make their goals. I have done well with my Kickstarters but I know there are a lot of folks who got burned too (cough, Robotech, cough). I wonder if there's a way to get the IS classics and skip the Clan cheese???? |

I know quite a few people liked the clans, and everything that followed. I was not one of them. This looks great, assuming they can keep stuff in stock, which seems to be a recurring problem with Catalyst. |

Sadly.. it's a Kickstarter. Being a KS might actually make them accountable to get them out sometime in the next few years…or at all, for that matter. The new plastics are awesome. And a final farewell to all that "Unseen" crap. That took long enough. I've never bothered with anything Invasion-on, but I'll pick them up because they'll look cool. They settled with Harmony Gold last year. (Not to mention Harmony Gold lost their own lawsuit with the original rights holders and they lose the rights themselves soon). |

I'm wealthy in old metals, but those plasitc Inner Sphere are pretty!
Given their track record, I wouln't put any money on Catalyst delivering the final product in any sort of timely fashion; but I think the odds are reasonable that they would deliver on a KS project eventually. I'll keep an eye on this one when it launches. |

They're allowed to use the classic Marauder and Archer design again…. or at least a changed version of it. So now they totally aren't a Glaug and Spartan. |
