I was just re-organizing my SYW armies and had a thought. For those of us with French SYW armies, what percentage of your infantry are in white coats and what percentage are in coats of a different colour? The French had my reckoning about 116 regiments in white coats (including the Walloons and Italians) and about 32 regiments in red or blue (Irish, German, Swiss). I ask because I have 9 regiments in white and 7 in other colours (including 4 of the 6 Irish brigade units). I guess I just like painting Irishmen1 A All white!
B Mostly white (75- 90%)
C A mix (25 – 74%)
D A token few white coats (24% or less)
E Not a SYW gamer
F Don't have a French army
G This is ridiculous |

I just sold them off, but I think I was well into "mostly white." The older I get and the smaller the scale, the more I want the sides obvious. |

My old French had about 3/4 white coats, the rest were red (Swiss) or blue (Alsace)- as far as I remember. |

Eh, since my French army at the moment is like 5 units, the numbers get a little wonky. My infantry sits at 1 while coated battalion 1 "german" in blue. And a half done white one.
My cavalry is 1 red coated and a half done white coated. |

I have around 36 units and eight are Swiss or Irish, four German, two royal grenadiers and the rest in white. So… 2/3rds? |

Let's see I have 21 French Inf units 14 are white coats, 2 red (swiss), and 5 blue (German) so I'll say C. |
