Sweet lord why? I'm a fan of Warlord but how is this a good thing for them? Is this just Games Workshop envy?

Excellent!
Wish they would come west but understand

This must be a vanity thing. It makesno sense from s business standpoint

Mythicos Studios…

The Mythicos Studios store is about 20 minutes from my home. It's all the buzz in the local gaming community.

That's funny. The owner of Mythicos is a self-made wealthy businessman, who I would imagine knows quite a bit about business. We obviously do not know all the details, but there's more to it than just expanding the number of Warlord stores. So no, it's not a "vanity thing."

Interesting. Without knowing the details, I imagine you have to sell a lot of toys to break even. Imagine being a 15 year old kid and having a local shop that has all of this product on display. It could very well be a shot in the arm for historical gaming.

I've never heard of "Mythicos" in 35 years and even after reading their website.. I have no idea what they really do or how this is supposed to benefit Warlord.

I wouldn't be surprised if Brexit is driving this. The UK is looking more and more likely to crash out which means they will have no trade deals and it reverts back to basic WTO stuff (which has a fair number of 'trade barriers' i.e. tarrifs and inspection requirements). By opening up a US outpost they should be able to mitigate the damage to what is probably a big market for them.

Mythicos is a relatively new venture owned by someone of substantial financial means, who has a passion for the gaming hobby. Reading the press release, this is a joint venture involving, among other things, production of new products.

Further aspects of the partnership include co-development and manufacturing of a series of new Mythicos Studios developed games, as well expansions built on current Warlord Games' existing gaming systems.

After a continual drumbeat of closings it is refreshing to see someone opening a retail outlet let alone several of them. I wish them well.

My point was that there are many, many stores that feature Warlord products and many, many more places online in the US. My local community has 4 stores that sell Warlord off the shelf. Let's say that Warlord opens a store in my community. Now they are competing directly with stores they distribute to. What's the benefit of that? We have a Games Workshop in my community as well, but those same stores also sell GW. It seems so pointless since typically the non-GW stores sell GW products at a discount, making it more practical to avoid the official store entirely.

Seems like you didn't read the news articles.

You truly are fortunate to have so many brick and mortar stores stocking products, especially any historicals, in your area TGerristen. For many of us it has been an unending list of stores going out of business. So, as I said, it is refreshing to see new retail outlets.

I sure did, Condi. I still disagree. Funny that- I have that right.

Q. Know how to make a small fortune in the gaming business?
A. Start with a large fortune.
I wish him well.

I never suggested that you don't have the right to disagree. Strange statement. In any event, since you read the articles, you must have seen that a main focus of the partnership is the development of new products "includ[ing] co-development and manufacturing of a series of new Mythicos Studios developed games, as well expansions built on current Warlord Games' existing gaming systems."

It's not simply about distribution of Warlord products.
