Finally I've finished just enough Austrians for a General de Armee game. The link below is just a quick AAR showing how they fared against the French in a stand up fight. link

I really liked how you integrated your clearly understood maps into the photos and narrative. Excellent report and thanks for posting it. |

Wow. A really great battle report. You have some fine terrain and some beautifully painted miniatures (and a decent-sized table, which helps). As IronDuke said, the way you weave the photos and narrative together and then add maps makes your report a joy to read. ;-) I, too, am fond of the Austrian Napoleonic army, so I was sorry to see them take a bit of a beating. Although they won the cavalry melee, it seemed that the Austrians didn't break a single French battalion. Was that because the French were stronger, bad luck, or poor tactics? |

Cheers guys thanks for checking the game out. Admiral The Poor Austrians just seem to have a lot of bad dice. On the right their lead battalion lost fire discipline a couple of times which pretty much stop other battalions getting forward to help. The French cavalry kept their centre battalions in square so the French guns could rack up the casualties here. That said the Austrian guns in the centre had really put the hurt on some French battalions (one was close to breaking). Their horse guns (of the light cavalry) were starting to worry the Italians too. So they were still very much in the game just ran out of time. |
