No Plastics Please!

We are moving up in scale from 20mm and each taking a nation.

One of us has taken British and German and I'm doing US – all in plastic but the guy who wants to do Russians really isn't into self assembly !

"Good" Would be defined as reasonable looking at a reasonable price in order to produce a Soviet Platoon for Chain of Command plus a few additions.

Obviously the price he is going to pay will be higher than if he didn't mind sniffing glue but we don't want to put him off either!

Suggestions welcome!

I like the Artizan squad packs available from Brogade Games. You get a full, correct squad.

I also like the Berlin or Bust figures from Old Glory.

Bad Squiddo makes enough females to make an an infantry squad plus some support weapons.

Black Tree does Russians.

BTD Russians are amongst the best lines out there… Service "MAY" be a but spotted, so if you are looking for immediate delivery, don't order…

However, if time is no big deal then do support them… I have NEVER had a missing order and any mistakes were taken care of in due course. BUT the owners have had some personal problems, which seems to be over, but you were warned.

Customer service issues again were eventually handle. I will continue to support them. But you must temper your expectations… They will be a bit slow….

I love their figures and have two huge armies – Falschirmjagers and Soviets… the Soviet range as a whole are, IMO the best out there. I do like Warlords scouts a bit more, but that is about the only other range that strikes me. I do have Artizans and theirs are a bit static. All mix well.

I really like the Warlord games Russians that are done in metal. Not the plastics. Really like BTD figs as they are easy to paint and look good. The Crusader line is not as defined but still good.

The Warlord games metal Russkies are very nice but as I recall they only have specialists in metal and the squadies are all plastic

I like Black Tree but have had problems with delivery in the past – great if they are resolved, as their figs are excellent

Crusader has some nice Russkies that are decently priced

Take a peak at the Great Escape Games Soviets.

Black Tree Russians are nice, also really like Victory Force Miniatures

Yes, I like the Great Escape Games soviets

Well, I'm impressed with the suggestions guys. More extensive ranges out there than I imagined.

Black Tree have loads of stuff and the Crusader and Artisan offerings look good too, as does Eureka but their prices are steep so likely to get ruled out I fear. At around £2.30 GBP/$2.20 per figure they are way over the cost of the others.

The Eureka are close to perfection IMHO.

BTD Russians are on sale this week… And of those mentioned are your best bet….***IBleeped text his personal issues are resolved…

Artizans' FJs are better than BTDs…. But BTDs Russians are the best out there. Both in cost and in quality of figs..YMMV….

Forgot to say I was also impressed by the size of the Berlin or Bust range which I'd never heard of before. They also look to be at a good price in the UK, where they are distributed by West Wind Productions.

Obviously Old Glory are not unknown to UK gamers but they have had such a checkered history in years past that they don't have the following they may have Stateside.
