Following on from my first post, this second post covers Mr Steve's and my visits to the battlefields of Shrewsbury 1403 and Mortimer's Cross, 1461 as we took a second day exploring the Welsh March Lands.
Two very different battles fought at opposite ends of the 15th C. but also similar and possibly connected in several respects. If you would like to know more then follow the link to JJ's link Jonathan (JJ) |

Thanks for your comment. We are indeed very fortunate here in 'Blighty' to have not only glorious countryside to explore, but also lots of history to go along with it. That said I am looking forward to exploring your part of the world for the first time next year and perhaps taking in a bit of wargaming and cricket. Cheers JJ |

I would say that the impact of that time did see the ending for the Longbowman in England. Due to losses and the coming of gunpowder weapons. |

Mortimers Cross is a battle I've got unpainted minis sitting around my house right now. I'd love to go there with a metal detector to try and find the exact location of the battle. |
