The first trailer for Picard only offers the barest of hints as to just why Picard—now an Admiral by the time of his exit—left Starfleet. Given what they have done to the whole Star Trek universe, they will dream up any old thing that suits their fancy whether it fits with old story line or not. |

I would be much more interested in the catastrophe in Star Fleet training and assignments which placed Picard in command of a starship. |

Agreed, Mobius. Tango, I like the idea of Picard, but shouldn't the "disaster" be obvious? He got old and retired. The actor is 79, now. Mandatory retirement with exceptions is 64 in our military. |
