The title says it all really! I've gone back through this board but can't find anything other than Oh Bleeped text's blog posts on this subject. Since he is now banned and there are no contact details on his blog I can't ask him.

So, is anyone aware of any rules mods for TMWWBK to better portray the Plains Indians v the US Army?

Thanks.

This was the subject of a Dan Mersey article, "Theme: Go West!", published in Wargames Illustrated issue 348 October 2016.

There is a decent adaptation in the files area of the TMWWBK Facebook page

Thanks guys. I've just downloaded WI 348, but, unfortunately, I will never become a commodity for Mr Zuckerberg to exploit.

Having played TMWWBK once for a plains Indian game, my opinion is that you would have to change it so much to make it have any resemblance to historical reality that you may as well start from scratch.

I appreciate that point of view, but that's not why I'm looking to play Plains Indian Wars with these rules. I planned, ran and played LBH using Yellow Ribbon, and it was one of the best gaming experiences of my life. And the result was about as historically accurate as you could get. Apart from Reno and his command dying!

But space and player restrictions mean that I'm going in a different direction at the moment. Once I've played TMWWBK a few times I'll know whether or not it suits my current purpose. If it doesn't then I'll look for some other rules for that period, goodness knows I have plenty of them.

Deephorse, the Plains War adaptions for MWWBK uploaded to the FB files were put together by some of the guys at my local club – they seem to work well and add a bit more period authenticity without over-complicating things.

Like you, I've always enjoyed games of YR, but MWWBK lend themselves to faster playing games

Thanks Charles. Is there any way to get these files without having to join FB?

If you don't mind posting your email address here, I can send you a copy in Word, if that helps?

Yes please Charles. 9deephorse at icloud.com9

Omit the two 9s and no space either side of the @ of course!

Many thanks.

Deephorse, they're on the way to you. Sorry for the slight delay, I was away at the OML7 event in Evesham

Anybody know a UK source for Yellow Ribbon rules in the UK?

Long OOP I think – they occasionally turn up on eBay

Horlicks, however TMWWBK's with the mods outlined and a careful use of the ammunition rules should be a good starting point. I like the idea of the US cav player always having to conserve his ammo and know just where and how far away the pack mules are, rather than simply endlessly blazing away.

Sadly scouting around on YouTube, not too much out there on MWWBK's.
