…"While impossible to make a post-mortem diagnosis for someone who lived 500 years ago, I am confident that ADHD is the most convincing and scientifically plausible hypothesis to explain Leonardo's difficulty in finishing his works," Catani said in a statement. "Historical records show Leonardo spent excessive time planning projects but lacked perseverance. ADHD could explain aspects of Leonardo's temperament and his strange mercurial genius."… link |

I read about a theory of migration to America that postulated that people with ADHD were the ones who could not settle down and therefore were the people who kept moving to new places and therefore, to America. |

"My field of study is ADHD, so that's what he had." "My field of study is Downs Syndrome, so that's what he had." "MY field of study is erectile dysfunction, so that's what he had." I really find experts who come up with these conclusions to be tedious. But that's me. |

Of course you find it tedious, you haven't got a book to sell, research grant to re-new, or a dead horse to flog…. |

I really find experts who come up with these conclusions to be tedious. But that's me. Not just you. Totally agree. I go one step farther. I don't think ADHD actually exists. It is modern pseudo-scientific explanation for certain human traits. It is circular in its explanatory power. Certain behaivours characterize ADHD; ADHD explains certain characteristic behaivours. This is a tautology pure and simple. |
