Just completed these models. They are Texas Redlegs, a mercenary company. This is their tank company. Models by BrigadeModels.co.uk and available from my web shop here in the US at ScaleCreep.com From the 6mm "Hammer's Slammers" range. I'm currently working out their stats for my SciFi rules… Command Platoon (Command tank, support tank, comms vehicle):

Shouldn't it be "Texas Redskirts"? ;) |

Some confusion here. Texas Redlegs would be an artillery unit, probably in the tradition of the old Bill Mauldin cartoon. ("Ordnance? Ah'm havin' trouble wif mah shootin' ahrn.") With that much red and green on their vehicles, these are probably the famous Lanceros Tejana. |

Or like the ACW "Mo. Red Legs" … |

The back story goes something like this. Merc unit is formed and red skirts become their calling card. Hulls are painted based on the terrain they are fighting in. But recruiting is slow. Head honcho remembers reading about some unit long ago and thinks they were Texas Reds? red legs? Whatever. "Re-brands" as the Texas Redlegs. Camo is not for combat – if you can be seen you're probably already dead. But of you want to impress the locals, and appeal to recruits, you gotta look cool. |

Thank you EC. Nice to have backstory. Actually, if you really want to impress the locals, hang a few heads from your tank. But I suppose the slope makes it tricky. |
