This comes up every so often, but bears ongoing discussion. I use fast set, 2-part epoxy. Although it's a pain to work with, it seems to get the best results. I'm hoping someone else out there has worked with that but moved on to a better solution. Lemme know.

Gorilla glue gel works well.

UHU

In extreme cases I've joined the parts with the heated tip of a hobby knife…

Gel superglue works OK, as does UHU.

I also occasionally heat weld when all else fails, I have an elderly pyrogravure (a sort of soldering iron for plastic) left from when I used to do serious plastic modelling.

I use white glue on one part and super glue on another. For example, put a drop of white glue on horse saddle and superglue on rider. This combination activates superglue immediately and in a few seconds parts glue together.

Not a perfect solution as no glue works for soft plastics very well.

My usual is uhu, but followed up by superglue if not strong enough.

Hot glue and glue gun works better than anything I have ever used, including all the above mentioned. Its also best for gluing to clear acrylic bases.

I forgot, I also use the PVA/superglue combo sometimes. That works pretty well.

Seconding the hot glue. The temperature aspect and the sheer speed is better than anything.
