Just a quick question, what size are the marines? Do they match the new larger scale marines or do they fall into the category of the smaller space marines?

they are apparently the easy fit Primaris variety, so the BIG UNS :)

Yep Primaris size, not stunty marines 😂

I think its pretty clear all the new stuff is going to be Prmaris at this point.

Mr Jones21 May 2019 11:05 a.m. PST

They are big; too big compared to my Mark III and Mark IV Marines.

Thanks guys, I was hoping for them being the smaller versions, I'm not completely sold on the primaris marines.

You will not see any new non-primaris Marines from now on, I'm afraid.

Well i like the primaris (but hate the name😣), the design is clean, not too many skullz, the way marines were always supposed to be😀

I like them but I'm still sold on the smaller size ☺ it's takes a while for an oldie like me to adjust 😂

Bracken, I too am an oldie, I started with Rogue Trader in 1987! Still prefer the new proper scale marines lol

40k, and fantasy, used to have a distinct Style. Now they just try to keep up with the Jones's with making things look "real", which is sad.

It's all real proportions these days. Marines used to be hulks, now they are some chap from the basketball team. Orcs were once crazy cartoons, not anymore. Tyranids in comprehendable monsters, now they have well defined anatomy (not a bad change, but the old was good in a different way, both should be made).

GW are all about refinement of design. Even at the cost of originality or style.

There has been a distinct shift from the 70s/80s fantasy Style that made the games popular.

They added new armies to stay current with trends, necrons (Terminator apeal), tau (Anime craze). That's fine, but changing a game entirely (AoS to a computer game look) is a but far. The marine change has no real basis though, unless it's computer games or bigger figs cost more? Or just making things real proportions at the cost of style.
