"The US Air Force has released a remarkable video showing a B2 bomber dropping its highest-powered 'bunker buster' amid rising tensions with Iran. The video, which is the most high-definition ever released of this kind of bomb, shows two GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs) being employed against a ground targets at an undisclosed location…." Well! The target was one of those dang orange road cones seen every summer along roads under construction. Everyone knows how easy those are to hit… No wonder the bomb hit perfectly! They need to use a different target to make this test legit!!! |

They need to use a different target to make this test legit!!! Like a stray shopping cart? |

Shopping cart! Funny. Next they will use a moving target… a Possum would be perfect, no one has ever hit one of those!! |

Wonder how deep that bomb penatrated? Think of that against German U-boat pens in WW2. |
Lion in the Stars | 20 May 2019 8:54 p.m. PST |
@14th NJ: Eh, maybe. They dropped 22k-lb bombs on the U-Boat pens and they failed to penetrate. Those bombs would actually break Mach 1 by the time they hit the ground! |

looks like a B2 not a B52. wonder how those external bomb bays mess with the stealth? |
Lion in the Stars | 23 May 2019 2:38 p.m. PST |
General Kirchner, the MOP is carried internally in a B-2's bomb bay. It takes up the entire bomb bay. |
