also spelt Levener, or Löwenehr

18 mm miniatures, the riders are from Sho Boki and the horses are AB.

Sho did a thorough research and shows the white metal water bottle which is carried in the French Revolution, incredible sculpting in detail as well, like the imperial cyper on the plate on the Kaskett (Headgear)- the lace on the saddle cloth, almost insane ;-).

I chose this regiment, because I like a unit with dark green facings, so for a change – again a white coat – the whole units should be 24 miniatures but I found that painting more than 16 mounted miniatures in one go is not so good for my motivation

These are 18mm….incredible. How I sympathise with avoiding 24 at one go.

Trumpeter is earlier one, with old Kaskett. Is this intentional?
Beautifully painted, especially I like horses.

von Winterfeldt18 May 2019 10:13 a.m. PST

Don't ask me if it is intentional – you are the sculptor, so standard bearer and trumpeter have Kasket without visor, as you say the older style.

I ask because there were Trumpeter and Standard bearer with new Kaskets also.

Hm – I did not get them – in case they are still there – reserve them for me for my next order

Poor von W. I think you wanted to stop at 16 maybe.

Now you know the work must go on………

von Winterfeldt19 May 2019 3:45 a.m. PST

That is no problem, there I found out – I need only another 8 miniatures to complete my unit ;-).

Lovely work! :)

I was interested to see a 'paint' horse in the unit. Very nice. I typically don't see such a horse in pictures I've seen in European armies. I may be ignorant, but I thought it was American western coloring. Just the same, very nice.

they were in use, the military tried to avoid them – but in some cases kettle drummer horses were "painted" horses, but also in the light cavalry as well, here Austrian hussars from about 1813

VW, I have another question.
You used infantry officer here. This means, that Chevaulegger Officers don't used cavalry Officer's bicornes?

von Winterfeldt02 Jun 2019 4:43 a.m. PST

I used the officer you sent me when I ordered Chevaulegers, the miniature was in the box.
