Who says it's dead??!! For those of us that play this rules set, there are several new lists that popped up unannounced: Marian Roman list (yea! much awaited!) Early Numidian/ Moorish Later Numidian (lots of troops with feigned flight/ and "woodsmen"rules) Plus tweaks to (mid-)Republican list, including 1 elephant!) and minor tweak to Later Carthaginian list. |

The Marian list is cool in that your army has to select a region from which its support units come, representing from where the general has campaigned and drawn troops. So not every list can access every cool support choice. Hopefully this will make each army have a unique flavor when playing a civil war. |

Garand- I have the same experience across the pond in London England. Cannot find anyone who actually plays them. |

Garand and Doom Beard, Here in Atlanta, GA I had to make some converts by playing some games. D6 Junkie above is one of my converts and now my main nemesis, slapping down my Republican Romans on a regular basis. Uppity Seleucids. My suggestion is to get your favorite opponent and try it out. I've had to build up both armies in the past. But with CoE it doesn't take huge forces to have an enjoyable game. 3-4 main battle line units, a few skirmish units, and a couple of cav units can be a great game that playable in a couple of hours. |

There are a couple of us that use the rules in Melbourne, Australia…. |

Patonius, The Marian list is similar but more simplified than my original I submitted, which – knowing me – what probably needlessly complicated. The regions for armies was necessary. I would have liked to see the random general's strategy rating and weakened tribunes kept in the final version (Caesar says they were near useless), but overall it's a good and much-needed list. |

Mars Ultor shortly after CoE came out I took the game to one of the London historical clubs and ran a few games. The club was then in the grips of FOF fever- aside from some snide comments the game generated no response. Try as I might I could get no one to even try them. Eventually they migrated to ADLGG and it was suggested that I ought to rebase my figures as it was the only way I would get in a game at that club. |

Doom, Sometime you've gotta do what you've gotta do. But maybe once their fever for that system is done you might try again. Philip of Macedon once said that he was like a battering ram; take what he can and then back off when opposition was too much; then go back in for another go. But good luck either way! |

Ancient Iberian Spanish List c220-20BCE Scutarii – need option to upgrade to light armour. At the moment they only have a large shield without an option for armour. |
