Excellent ideas in action here. I personally do not like glossy figures as cloth is not naturally glossy. Nevertheless, thought provoking stuff. Chris |

Chris, They are matt not glossy, it is just the reflection from the light. Rod |

Apologies Rod. Yes, upon closer examination it is optical. If you use a disused light for your pictures it will eliminate to a large degree the reflections. Hope that helps. Still good stuff though, I do like your conversions of the French and AWI guys. Best wishes, Chris |

Hi, that should read diffused . Predictive text or stubby fingers? |

I love that. Disused light…. My figures are as matt as can be, but I need so much light, if to have any depth of focus. I use several spots, a massive tripod, several seconds exposure, f number as high as I can get it….but always get reflection off the painted surfaces. Does diffusion not sacrifice the light? Genuinely want to learn more |

Hi Mr. D. I use Diffused light indoors or even better for best results real light in my conservatory. Back lighting is useful but direct light will result in hot spots, reflections and shadowing. I could not find a link I posted before but this gives you the principles. link Best wishes, Chris |

Thanks for the tip re lighting. Great thing about this forum. We may go way off topic, but that is how the best conversations develop. |

Hello again Mr D. I hope that you find this as brilliant as I did. YouTube link Kubrick's use of light is still taught as my Dutch film director friend Mr Crynns attests. Best wishes and sorry to go off subject Rod. I am chopping up an AWI chap as we speak. Chris |
