It is one of the horrifying Japanese torture methods from World War II. Records indicate that vivisections were conducted in several places throughout Japan, such as at the infamous Unit 731 base and at Kyushu University. At the Kyushu center, eight United States prisoners of war were subject to the experimentation – none of them survived…."

Nasty business.

Of course experiments were performed on mental patients in the West that were nearly on a par with those done by those doctors insofar as the epilepsy case.

And then of course there was Lysenko.

Not all 'mad scientists' were/are the creation of horror movie scriptwriters.

One hopes that the officers and doctors involved in these 'experiments' were appropriately punished.

Vivisection should have been done on the officers and doctors involved in these 'experiments' … But if none of them were punished, hopefully they all died slow painful deaths.
