We've been playing a lot of Shadow Wars lately. Mostly because I just don't have the time to spend putting together an army list and playing a 4-6 hour game. Shadow Wars brings back the flavor of the ol' high school DnD dungeon crawl. We get a kick out of developing the team that begins to take on "character." And since we have 6 or 7 armies between us, there is no lack of variety. Just wondering if anyone has a preference between the two games: Shadow Wars or Kill Team? |

Not sure what the quadruple bypass was about. |

I prefer KT over SW:A because it's a simpler, more elegant and more accessible set of rules, just as 40K 8th edition is far better than the bloated and unbalanced mess that 6th/7th Ed. had become. But YMMV. |

I preferred SWA – no tactics cards needed, everything (almost) in just one book. Don't like GW's trend of using strategy cards for factions and then rolling out new stuff for them, forcing you to buy the new unit boxes if you want all the avail able cards. SWA is IGOUGO, but is easily house-ruled. But currently I play Grim Dark Fire Fight from One Page Rules, which is free and much less cumbersome than either. |

KT overall, though I'm not a huge fan of tactics cards. My son and I just had our first game of Grimdark Future and are going to try out Grimdark Future Firefight. Fast, easy, and free. |

I much prefer SW:A. I've played Kill Team and it just seems boring to me. It is basically a small scale 40K game which kind of sucks because when you have fewer models the rules just don't work very well. What is interesting for having 60 models on the table with tanks and whatnot just doesn't cut it for having 6-10 models on the table. SW:A had a lot more depth to the rules for a skirmish game. It was more complicated and while that wouldn't work for making it for a big battle, it worked really well for skirmish. |

SWA.. for no other reason than it actually has a campaign. The KT "campaign" is laughable, not to mention that everyone ignores the "command roster" aspect of the game anyway. The game designers and playtesters even have to keep saying "Don't ignore the command roster!". GW keeps adding more and more to KT.. as of right now, it's "40K lite". Just update SWA with the few rule changes in Necromunda2017 and it's great. |

Kill team gives you more freedom |

SW:A had a lot more depth to the rules for a skirmish game. I thought you disliked WH40K 2nd edition, which is little different form Necromunda 1st edition, which is virtually the same thing as SW:A? |

Shadow War. I like the overwatch, hiding, and other details that add a bit more tactical thought to the game. To me, it's more satisfying. |

Yes, I said in this thread basically that I don't like WH40K 2nd edition. |
