As a follow-up to this poll on space marine chapters: TMP link how many 40K armies (of all types/races) do you own?

I have 5: Primaris Ultramarines, House Terryn Imperial Knights, Astra Militarum Cadian Shock Troops, Biel Tan Craftworld Eldar and T'au from the T'au Sept.

There's a good chance it will become 6 when the new plastic Sisters of Battle come out later this year.

Mr Jones08 May 2019 2:38 p.m. PST

Space Marine 'Iron Hands', Adeptus Mechanicus and Tyranids.

Elements of two: odds and ends of Necrons and Imperial Guard.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2019 3:09 p.m. PST

I'm not sure if this is ONLY 40k or if you're counting 30k too Fanatik?

If 30k too, here's mine:

30k:

-Have Thousand Sons,
(Planning: Space Wolves, Solar Auxilia, Imperial Cult, Sons of Horus, Sisters of Silence, and Custodes all for a narrative Prospero campaign).

40k:

-For Space Hulk, a full Blood Angels tactical company + Stealers.
-For Kill Team:
Thousand Sons,
Kroot,
Eldar,
Dark Eldar,
Tau,
Crimson Fist Scouts,
Alpha Legion,
Nurgle,
Imperial Guard,
Harlequin,
Necrons,
Orks,
'Nids,
Grey Knights,
Mechanicus,
& GS Cult.

No actual "40k" armies at the moment (though I have $600 USD worth of unassembled Tau if anyone is looking!).

If Kill Team does rules for 30k I would probably run teams for most of the Legions as well as Solar Aux, and Mechanicum and Daemons.

Beakie Marines. IG mix of original box set and Jungle troopers. Lots of older Eldar and Orcs. Have some Harliquins and had a large Squat biker army that I sold off.

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP08 May 2019 4:17 p.m. PST

None.

I have a bunch of forces made up of GW 40K models.

Tyrranids, Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Necrons. IG. Lots of different "team" SM and CSM. My faves are beakie birds.

Louie N08 May 2019 5:04 p.m. PST

Too many…

Col Durnford08 May 2019 5:21 p.m. PST

None as well.

None planned and none wanted.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2019 5:22 p.m. PST

None as such. I do pick up Squats or equivalents when available, and a horde of Gretchen--but nothing that would involve playing 40K.

Wargamer Blue08 May 2019 5:25 p.m. PST

Zero.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut08 May 2019 6:36 p.m. PST

It depends on how you define "army." I like to play 500-1000 point games, bit some won't consider my forces as armies.

But I have:

Death Guard
Nurgle Daemons
Craftworld Eldar
Dark Eldar
Harlequins

And am working on:
Slaanesh Daemons
Tau

All in the 500-1000 point range.

Bandolier08 May 2019 7:00 p.m. PST

If you asked me 3 years ago I would have said zero.

With two teenage sons who enjoy playing I now have:

White Scar Space Marines
Eldar
Tyranids

All with old school models, where possible. My youngest calls my old metal Tyranids "Derpy". Some type of put-down because they aren't as cool as his new ones.

A number of Rogue-Traderish forces.

Those Beaky Birds are outstanding!!!

Syrinx008 May 2019 8:08 p.m. PST

I can field multiple old metal IG armies (Praetorian, Catachan and Steel Legion) with a lot of tanks, support vehicles and super heavies. I have a few new Adeptus Mechanicus units in boxes that were intended to be a new army.

Sold off the Tyranids and Orc hordes years ago to friends kids. Sold my old Sisters and Arbite army long ago but I am slightly tempted by the new sisters.

Tgerritsen Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2019 8:51 p.m. PST

IG
Tau
Necron
Space Marine

Whirlwind09 May 2019 1:43 a.m. PST

0 Armies; elements of 5 small forces (10-30 ish models)

IUsedToBeSomeone09 May 2019 4:26 a.m. PST

None, although I quite like some of the figures (such as the Tau), I really hate the background…

Mike

Andy Tea09 May 2019 6:13 a.m. PST

Adeptus mechanicus
Imperial Guard
Tyranids
Tau
Grey Knigts
Necrons
Half way through building a Genestealer Cult

jefritrout09 May 2019 6:37 a.m. PST

Had quite a few, but am now down to two – Orks (don't know about new points, but in 5th edition 9K worth) and Space Marines with some IG support.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP09 May 2019 8:07 a.m. PST

+1 to Beakie Marines…the only true SMs.

Moonbeast09 May 2019 10:02 a.m. PST

In the 8-10,000 pt. range:
Chaos Marine
Death Guard
Salamanders
Black Templars
Tau
Ork

2500 pt. range:
Imperial Knights
Eldar/Ynnari
Blood Angels
Sisters of silence
30k Emperor's Children

rmaker09 May 2019 12:05 p.m. PST

None

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP09 May 2019 2:15 p.m. PST

Oh, yeah, I have Orks too. Mostly old school ones.

Those Beaky Birds are outstanding!!!

Thanks. The next set will be blue jays. Then owls.

15mm and 28mm Fanatik09 May 2019 3:34 p.m. PST

The RTB01 beakies look so cute next to a Primaris.

picture

Katzbalger09 May 2019 4:22 p.m. PST

I have Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Tau, Eldar, and Orks.

But none set up for the current edition of the rules.

Pictors Studio10 May 2019 6:45 a.m. PST

I have:

Black Legion
Emperor's Children
World Eaters
Daemons of Khorne
Slaanesh
Nurgle
Tzeentch
Grey Knights
Tau
Night Lords
IG tank company
Genestealer Cult
Tyranids
Crimsonm Fists
I also have an Inquisitor warband that can be added to the imperial forces.

For 30K I have
VI Legion
XII Legion
XV Legion
and then small forces of III and XVI Legion.

And most of the Night Lord figures could be used as VIII Legion, especially towards the end of the Heresy.

ManofErebor10 May 2019 10:26 a.m. PST

Not enough armies. Good shape with the Imperial Guard, Space Marines (my own chapter), and Tau. Still working on Chaos (Nurgle), Necrons, and a mutant army (play as IG).

Just started Skitarri. There's so much I like.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP10 May 2019 11:42 a.m. PST

Get ready to own 40k minis in a new size….12"….I just saw a teaser on youtube.

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP10 May 2019 12:51 p.m. PST

Awww … that's lousy. A 12" tall Space Marine would be too short to play with other 12" dolls (1:6 scale figures). Since the SM are supposed to be 7' or 8' tall, that would make another 12" figure that same height sans all the armour and boots.

If they made them 1:6 scale, that would be awesome. It would be like putting 6" dolls on ShadownRun Duels bases. I'd love to have these girls kick some SM butt …

picture

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP10 May 2019 3:09 p.m. PST

Maybe the "other dolls" are Primaris Barbies….bet you didn't think of that!

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP11 May 2019 4:38 a.m. PST

From the above pic, I am going to assume "primaris" is a SM 7' ogre (genmod, of course). Since those dolls are women of the WWE, I think you"re right!

joedog11 May 2019 10:46 a.m. PST

By "own" do you inlcude those that are yet to be assembled, yet to be painted, etc.?
Many, many, many.

Or, just assembled and painted?
Few.
