…and 2026. "What, you thought because Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was concluding the story of the Skywalker family we were done with a galaxy far, far away? Disney just released its absurdly stacked film slate stretching all the way into 2027, and that includes a new trilogy of Star Wars films, with installments hitting theaters on December 12, 2022, December 20, 2024, and December 18, 2026. For six straight years, we'll be alternating between a Star Wars movie and new Avatar movies in December. Now, what these Star Wars films are, exactly, remains to be seen. There's always the chance they are three standalone films set in the Star Wars universe, but after the box office woes of Solo, Disney seems to be out of that particular game for now. Far more likely is a new connected trilogy. But which one?…" Main page link Amicalement Armand

Star Wars has lost its magic and much of its appeal. How well 'The Rise of Skywalker' performs at the box office will serve as a referendum and go a long way in determining the viabilility of the SW brand moving forward. |

I pulled stuff from the shelves today--Leigh Brackett's THE COMING OF THE TERRANS, PEOPLE OF THE TALISMAN and SECRET OF SINHARAT. Burrough's FIGHTIMG MAN OF MARS. I'm buying issues of Planet Stories from time to time. Disney can do as they please, but I really don't need them for my space opera fix. Probably just as well, given their recent efforts. |

Rogue one was the only movie worth watching out of the last 10 years of star wars. |

Avatar is actually still a thing? Guessing they are thinking "If we build a theme park ride, they will come!" Solo would have been better if the actor had tried to deliver his lines like H. Ford… |

I'm far more excited about the four Avatar films! |

My own (very personal) belief is that Avatar just might have edged out Showgirls for the "Worst Movie with a Budget" award. |

'Avatar' is far from a bad movie, as it still holds the record as the highest grossing movie of all time until 'Endgame' manages to topple it. I will be looking forward to the long overdue sequels, but James Cameron isn't one who can be rushed. |

Avatar is one of the best science fiction movies ever made. Interesting characters, a solid plot, and fantastic visuals. |

The team that did Clone Wars and Rebels needs to get a chance to make a couple of feature films. Their writing, pace, character development, and storytelling is far superior to the folks who have made the last ten movies. I have really enjoyed those two series, which has maintained my interest in Star Wars. Rogue One was superior to all the other movies since Return of the Jedi, but when you set the bar on the ground, it is easy to step over it. Rogue One was okay, but not good. Solo could have been good if the acting had been better and the main character had any charisma. While the script had some interesting ideas, another couple of writers were needed to clean it up. I think the challenge with most of the movies since Return of the Jedi has been that they rely on a few major action sequences and special effects over plot, character, story, acting, and ensemble chemistry. |

I think their big problem is creating a story around a PC core. |
