There was a wild and wonderful young baker one summer at a ranch my wife and I go to in Wyoming. She collected rubber ducks. She had about 400 of them if I remember correctly. She only had about 100 of them at the ranch. The edge of the roof of her cabin had matching ducks hanging all the way around it.

The chef had called her from a job in the midwest as a hair dresser, saying if she promised to stay all summer he would teach her to bake. She made as good a pot de creme as I ever had in my life. I'm sure the rubber ducks must have had something to do with it.

Nice!
But I think we'll do it to ourselves before they get a chance to turn on us.
