Here 3 game boards for my 2mm "Altar of Freedom" Scenarios
Champion Hill, Pleasant Hill and Shiloh.

An exaple start-setup of "Pleasant Hill"

The CS left flank, in the background the "Jordan" farm and far away Pleasant Hill.

The right CS flank, with the cavalry divison of Green.

And here Pleasant Hill with the US baggage trains, which must try to escape.

Looks as though it has a lot of potential, Bayernkini! But before I spend $25 USD on rules, can you talk about ground scale, basing size and any adaptations you made for 2mm play?

there should be some more english reviews on the web, you should search about it.

One base in AoF represent a brigade or a artillery battery.
I halved the board size and all distances, because of my using with 2mm (instead 6mm).

So my gameboards have a size of 60x60cm or 90x60cm (instead a normal 120x120cm or 180x120cm table).
Only the suggested base size (60x30mm) are not halved 50% exact.
My unitbases have a size of 40x20mm and the Leaders/Artillery bases have a size of 25x20mm.
The unitbases have a magnetic foil on botton. The labeled/named bases are 5mm deeper than the unit bases, to see the labels. The named bases are also magnetic on top side and on the very top side i glued simple selfmade stickers.

See this example

I use not only complete/fixed 3D boards, i also use a magetic gameboard with a poster and magnetic layouts as roads, rivers, hills e.g.

link

I use also a simple selfmade "Turncontroll", "Timecounter" and magnetic Leader charts, see those pics

My personell advantage of the halved scale is, i can use the gameboard on a standard dining room table,
also if i want play the larger battles as Gettysburg,

Just saw this thread, and very impressed by the terrain-to-units integration of the project!

Well done Michael.

Just testing, how it would looks, if i would keep the original 6mm size (rules, bases, gameboard e.g.) but with 2mm miniatures

Yes, and with enough room then for these cool-looking diorama stands you're making here – very neat!

Seeing what you're doing above makes me sorry I sold off my own 2mm ACW collection a 1/2 dozen years ago – (oh well, will enjoy seeing this scale looking good with your project).

Please keep the updates coming, ok?
