Some might find this interesting. This is a pretty bog standard reproduction rapier, by no means a super sword. And while tatami mats aren't actual good analogs for human limbs, it does show the cutting ability of a rapier, it could quite easily cut to the bone, if you aren't wearing to much clothing or armor. This ofcourse is also a later style rapier quite thin blades earlier ones would have an even more substantial blade. youtu.be/9MloYsf7XII

Yay! Rapiers certainly can cut--maybe not trough bone, but tp the bone, certainly. AT worst, drawcuts are a thing, so to say. Rob |
