I've started listening to Turtledove's War That Came Early and thought about using FOW to relight this non historical conflict. Just wondering if anyone else has already done this and has any info that would be helpful |

I think you need to examine what equipment was actually available for the German Army in an early campaign against Czechoslovakia. For instance, the Panzer IV was just beginning to enter service in 1938, so that wouldn't have been a game changer. Same thing with the Me-109, which was just entering into full production and wouldn't become the predominant German fighter until Fall of 1939. Same with the 8.8 cm Flak, only a few hundred gun were in general service in 1938, and almost all of them were in fixed AA positions. For the most part German armor is going to be PzI, PzII, PzIII early models and a relative handful of early PzIVs. Mostly non-mechanized foot troops (no Hanomags until 1939) or troops in trucks. No Flak 88s in an ATG role, artillery will be horsedrawn or pulled by truck. Most of your air support will be advanced interwar biplanes, a few Me-109s, and the Heinkel medium bomber. |
