You were asked – TMP link

On a scale of 0 to 10, what would be your level of interest in a Kickstarter to produce a boxed DBA starter set, including matched 28mmm armies?

Average response: 1.61

Depends on the armies. Would certainly follow one

years ago a company offered boxed dba armies. I haven't seen them for a while. There are so many armies and variants of them that a wareho9use would be needed. Of course not all armies are used.

Would depend on armies and scale. What might work is if you have a basic rules set with bases, dice etc and then give options as to what starter armies the buyer wants.
I'd start with Ancient options being Republican Romans, Gauls, Macedonians and Carthaginians/
Medieval options being Western Europe, Byzantine Empire, Mongols and one of the Moslem armies.
I guess as a bundled game if not too expensive (plastic figures?) is that it would be easier to target people not currently playing wargames. Would it be of any use to existing players?
Would the figures be nice enough to attract modelers/collectors?

Multi part figures that could build basic units for a variety of armies and even periods.

Bare feet and legs could be used for Romans, celts, numerous civilians, so on. Sandled feet similar. Bare heads could be anyone.

I love DBA but have not had success with kickstarters. I would just buy the armies, a la carte.
