…. Series Makes a Final Stand

"HBO has released an official trailer for its Deadwood movie, and what a wealth of reunions it is! Twelve years later and things feel like they just ended yesterday, as Al Swearengen (Ian McShane) and Seth Bullock (Timothy Olyphant) look to make a final stand against the corrupt George Hearst (Gerald McRaney), whose presence originally ended the series on such a nihilistic note.

There isn't much more in the trailer that gives us a sense of the plot other than seeing all of our favorite characters coming together to make a claim for their way of life in the face of Hearst's desire to haul them all into a future of his own making, but I am absolutely here for it no matter what.

Happily, returning cast members for the Deadwood movie include just about everyone you can remember: Molly Parker (Alma Ellsworth), Paula Malcomson (Trixie), John Hawkes (Sol Star), Anna Gunn (Martha Bullock), Dayton Callie (Charlie Utter), Brad Dourif (Doc Cochran), Robin Weigert ("Calamity" Jane Canary), William Sanderson (E.B. Farnum), Kim Dickens (Joanie Stubbs). The film will also feature new cast member Jade Pettyjohn (Caroline)…"
