Just wondering if anybody knows if Seekrieg 5 is still being supported. Would appreciated any insight. The reason for my questions are: I'm interested in acquiring yet another rules set, but my interests lean heavily towards WWI in the med. The minor navy's disks were indicated nearly a decade ago, and I think I saw something about it being then 2013, nothing since. As well there aren't really any recent updates on their website. I know it's likely somebody's side passion, but lack of activity on a product worries when considering dropping a bunch of money on rules and logs. As well I sent an email inquiring about the possibility of download vs. disks (since no computers I have anymore have DVD ROMS). Thanks in advance for any perspectives. |

w4golf The last thing I have seen was in January on the Yahoo group. That they were being worked on, but nothing since. |

I'd hold off as lack of support and lack of activity on their web site and Yahoo would be red warning flags to me. I'd Wait for the rules and discs to appear on the secondary market if you really want to get them. (lastly, one reason I keep older PC's is for the CD ROM and other features the new ones no longer have. Many of my games run fine on the XP machine but not on my Win10). |

This link shows a battle between Bismark and Prince of Wales using SK5. It will give you an idea of the dice rolling for battery fire and damage resolution. This battle took about an hour for just 2 ships, lasted 4 turns and done by someone that appears experienced with the rules. Maybe it'll help you decide if you really want to get SK5. YouTube link I bought the rules and disks a few years back. Delivery of them was fairly fast with no issues. The concern I was trying to convey (probably not very well) was getting answers to any rules questions you may have as there is very little traffic on the Yahoo Groups page. |
