Great club game on Friday. We fought over the Ligny table that the club ran as a participation game at Salute.

Beautiful looking game!
What rule set are you using? How does it handle village fighting?
Just curious as our group plays Shako 2.

Judging by the markers, I'd assume the rules are General d' Brigade. My preference also.

I consider myself a terrain junky, but that's one of the best – maybe the best -- village I've ever seen. Looks like some sort of cobblestone/street mat with small clusters or individually based buildings then placed on top?

It's also a great illustration of how some simple things add up to a great table -- a generic grass mat with various terrain (fields, trees, streams) placed on top of it -- can add up to something amazing. Aside from the village, no one terrain piece is special, but when everything is placed together, the total exceeds the sum of the parts.

Well done!

WrgMr1 – we use General d'Armee rules (same author, Dave Brown, can be seen in playing in the blue tee shirt)

Thsryock – completely agree. The village looked amazing. It splits into about 6 terrain parts each with a couple of buildings. Each of these were based with wall / hedges etc. These, in turn, sat on a felt mat marked up where each bit should go, so the whole thing broke down very nicely for travelling and the individual sections are re-usable separately.

I saw this at SALUTE, and it looked really really good.

Very impressive. And it is one of the few I've come across that tempts me to move up from 6mm.
