My battalions are between 54-60 figures strong and I'm rebasing to arrange them in a more period feel. Colour party with Commanding Officer, drummer and possibly two pioneer figures to rear with axes, thoughts on the pioneers? Two hat bases with drummer and Officer to front. Other four just rank and file. I'm considering adding a fifer rather than a drummer to my British AWI Grenadier companies. Would that be correct? In bearskin ? Who makes them? Light company on a formed base with bugler and Officer. Light infantry on large skirmish base with bugler and Officer. Any thoughts comments or corrections most welcome!! |

Depends who I play! BP mostly, but Also British Grenadier as well. Currently 6 figs on a 30mm x 30mm (5,7 or 9 bases) but want to move to 40mm x 40mm with 8 figures. Some with additional office and musicians front and rear. |

"Colour party with Commanding Officer, drummer and possibly two pioneer figures to rear with axes, thoughts on the pioneers?" In all my readings, I have never read any specific mention of pioneers, other than being grouped together for specific work such as clearing roads, etc. "I'm considering adding a fifer rather than a drummer to my British AWI Grenadier companies. Fifers were only with the grenadier company. They could wear a bearskin or cocked hat. |
