guys
building a 1/300 scale b29 bomber i got while back
have question on the location and shape of the under belly turret that was used to house the radar (i understand that the censor normally erased this turret from released photos)
does any one have close ups of this turret/dome both deployed and stowed (partially retracted i believe) ,does its shape look like a standard ball turret or what shape is it ?

On the B29A, that was a simple round dome for the AN/APQ-13 radar.

The B29B was fitted with the AN/APQ-7 bombing radar, which had much higher resolution than the -13. The -7 radome was a long wing-shape, and according to the crews could clearly make out the runways of an airport from 50+ miles away.
