…WAR CRIMES ACQUITTAL AND PROPHETIC WORDS ABOUT THE PLIGHT OF EUROPE TODAY. DID WE WIN WWII ONLY TO LOSE THE WESTERN WORLD? "Otto Skorzeny was one of the most colorful men of the Third Reich and its most successful special operations commander. Skorzeny made it clear why he fought so hard when World War II appeared to be lost: The allied conference at Casablanca made the greatest impression on all thinking men in the Axis countries. Our enemies made "unconditional surrender" their declared war aim. Now we knew where we were. I absolutely refused to consider the possibility of anything but a German victory. Regardless of his WWII "affiliations", like a lot of military history. His operations are worth studying. If we only studied the "winners" or those we "like" … we'd only get 1/2 the story … yes ? |

Skorzeny is a monster, albeit a cunning, resourceful and ruthless one. He's as close to an evil (or rather amoral) "James Bond" type problem-solver for Hitler as it gets. |

Glamorizing a Nazi war criminal bigot in order to lend justification to more bigotry today? No thanks. Preventing that sort of thing is exactly what over 400 thousand Americans (including those killed by Skorzeny's troops) died for in WW2. Please do not be misled. If you harbor agreement with the point of that article that tries to lend credibility to murder in the name of tribalism, you are spitting on those graves. |

Well I don't think most here would glamorize or certainly agree with anything illegal, war crimes, etc., Skorzeny or the Nazis did, etc. But again, we have to study history, as Sun Tzu said, to paraphrase, "Know your enemy …" For a number of obvious reasons … |
