"Brief" doesn't begin to cover it- that was a teased teaser. I'm now mad at Warlord for giving me absolutely nothing. |

I don't know what it is about, but I suspect it is going to cost me money… |

Comments are Youtube are claiming it is possibly a reprint of "Warriors of Antiquity" rules (Mongoose). |

From a post on the lead adventures forum 1. Skirmish combat in the ancient world, this implies its not just Roman era. 2. D6 based 3. Warband size 4. Release late july 5. Mixture of already existing warlord plastics and heroes made in "Single or multi piece plastic, which will be the way forward, maybe restic/resin-plastic mix" 6. Starter is Cesarian Romans vs Gallic Celts 7. Hero focused, customise what your heroes can do, some kind of talent tree to advance heroes. 8. Games between 25-45 mins, this ties with the campaign tree because you can have multiple games in one night 9. Bolt Action style random activation (grab a token/dice/etc from a bag) 10. 20-30 miniatures max 11. Infantry, Cavalry, some warmachines (a scorpion has been mentioned) 12. Mercenariea can be bought link
second video not much more than first link |

Ancient armies fighting warband style…? I'm sure it happened here and there, but I'll give it a pass. |

This sounds super-similar to Mortal Gods (from Footsore & Victrix.) |

My feeling is that if you want to play a battle in the ancient period, you're going to have to paint more than 20-30 miniatures. If you don't have the stomach for that then I suppose these can suffice….with a little imagination. Just my opinion. |

What I don't get is that this site is offering two Roman sets for preorder but I can't find anything on Warlord Games website about this product at all. link Box art for the Roman heroes shows a couple of the twin pack sets warlord sells. If they're going to do this then they should have some unique figures. Mars Ultor, there are a number of instances where skirmishes took place, for example soldiers out foraging. It might be a gateway system for people used to skirmish games to get into ancient gaming too. You can also assume that police type actions took place against mostly pacified populations or small garrisons find themselves up against tattered remnants of larger armies. |

Agreed, and I was thinking about the foraging or messy edges or a battle when I said it happened "here and there". I certainly hope it's a fun game for people. |
