The OFM sure decided to leave TMP at an inopportune time. As an avid GOT lover, he would usually come here the same evening or next morning to throw out his thoughts on the latest episode. In memory of this, I have placed this thread for people discuss their thoughts.

Possible Spoiler warning for those who haven't watched.

My .02- with 5 episodes left, they are going to have a hard time telling the rest of the story without it feeling REALLY rushed. There's a lot of ground to cover and precious few episodes in which to do it.

We thoroughly enjoyed it and while "action" was maybe minimal I understood that they needed to set up things with the betrayal, the big reveal, the wild ride, etc. And what in blazes does that spiral figure represent?

Pictors Studio15 Apr 2019 9:03 a.m. PST

Blazes is right.

I agree that it will feel rushed unless the army of the dead is very successful early on. I just wonder if that is how they are going to get Bran to turn into the Wight King.

I liked the episode overall. I think Daenarys and Aegon are going to have to have a difficult conversation but all relationships hit bumps. Sometimes like the old "I'm your nephew thing" can be more than your significant other can handle though, but they are Targeryans so they can probably handle it.

They probably asked the kid who played Ned Umber if he would rather be the 3rd spear carrier from the left in 3 episodes, or a terrifying zombie in 1.
Come on. He's 12 years old. What do you think he would say?
A trivial prediction. We will never find out what those spiral patterns mean. It will be left a mystery. Fans gotta have their theories, right? In 6 weeks, most will be shown to be rubbish. Throw them a bone.

Well as usual I am out of the loop. What has happened to cause the OFM to leave. I'm very sorry to hear it if it's true.

@Pictors: Fantastic! That's how to celebrate the return (and end) of GoT!

I'm so jealous …

Happy to hear about my buddy/mentor John!… give him my best wishes…!

Question: Is Dany pregnant?…

Poor Jaime… time to pay for his sins….

But… I saw him fighting in the castle walls of Winterfeld!…redemption?.

He have tu survive… he has to kill her sister…

The "Golden Company"… bah!… 20.000 mercenaries and 2.000 riders?… a sandwich for the Dragons…(smile).

Have we see aerial combat?…

Nobody ask why John can fly a Dragon?… Even Dany?…

Oh! John… how much I miss you!!!….

Dany looked like a biker chick taunting a nerd when she challenged Jon to hop on the dragon.

Yeah, since only Targaryens have ever ridden dragons, it does seem pretty obvious. Dany is blinded by love (and ambition).

"Your Grace. We had to leave the elephants behind because the producers used up the cgi budget on those darned dragons."
"When you kill that silver haired *****, I want her dragons. The way things are going around here, I'm probably Targaryen too."
"Yes, your Grace."

John is a noble soul, willing to go to any length and suffer the scorn of friends and family to do whatever it takes to forge a strong coalition to save everyone from the coming zombie apocalypse.

Dany is a haughty, imperious tyrant who works tirelessly to make sure absolutely everyone else knows their place, and hers. She begrudgingly accepted the truth that her father was a monster, but seems to forget it when it's convenient. Cue next week's episode.

If they survive the Main Event, I see a lot of "yes, dear" in John's future.

My vote for the dumbest scene in the series up to this point: Sam meets Dany.

Sam gets all bent out of shape because the Mother of Dragons baked his Dad and bro…Dad who hated him and wanted him dead (and whose sword he stole, what was the motivation there?). He might have wept for the loss of *a* father, but not his particular version. And what about his brother, who he hadn't even seen since he was a baby, and by all calculations, shouldn't' have been more than around ten at this time, not a grownass man as old as Sam himself?! And I had thought that the soap-opera aging of Tommen Baratheron was bad, but at lest that served a purpose. Having Dickon show up was unnecessary. And everyone seems to conveniently forget that Randall Tarley might as well HAVE bent the knee to Dany- it would have been more honorable than selling out the Tyrells for cash-money from the Lannisters, which is as dishonorable as it gets. Once you've pissed away your credibility, opting for the "don't die horribly" choice is a no-brainer.

Lots of long overdue reunions, all very lackluster. I'm glad this one is headed for the barn, because it's lost all its spark, and the writing's getting lazier by the season.
