Hello everyone,

Please, who know or practice "The War Game Rules" of Mr Charles S. Grant?

I game with these rules quite a lot. They still play well and lots of mini-campaign books out there as well.

couple of battle reports on my channel.

They were the rules that brought me into miniature gaming back in the 70s. I bought the supplement that clarified some unclear or incomplete rules, and have all the campaign books his son put out.

The 'War Game' rules noted above were actually written by Charles S Grants father also named Charles Grant (deceased), am not sure what his middle initial is.

It is a little confusing when there is a tradition of a son taking the same first name as the father and in this case the grandson too.

Charles Grant did indeed write the War Game rules and many other wargaming books besides.

Charles S Grant is also an accomplished wargames author and has also written a Companion volume to the War Game including all the original rules and a number of additional items and explanations. This is a book worth having if you like these rules.

The grandson, Charles Edward Grant is also a wargamer but has not published anything so far that I can find.

There is an active group of wargamers who can be found on the Fife and Drum Minis Forum who are very conversant with the Grant Rules.

I have both the Hard Cover written by his father as well as the 2012 book in paperback. I truly enjoy reading them. I have always been curious as to figure out how to make them work for 6mm without removing casualties? Has anybody ever played this way using bases of troops for battalions and found a way to make it work?
