I'm trying to see how far back the warlord plastic marlburian figures can go. When did the tricorne become the standard?

Not every one at the same time, I think the French were late, say end of 17th century. 1690+++satrt. Really the thing by 17100. I think it mostly follows the civilian fashion.

Even during the War of the Spanish Succession there were some floppy hats, but as has been mentioned above, tricornes became standard around 1700.

I have seen Austrian illustrations that show the black beaver hat that would become the tricone still being worn in the 1720s
