Is there a renaissance warfare magazine somewhere out there.

jhancock10 Apr 2019 6:14 p.m. PST

Yes, from clubs in the UK, but not a glossy commercial pub. Lance and Longbow offer The Hobilar and the Pike and Shot offer Arquebus. There may be an ECW publication from a UK group as well.

They're not 'clubs', they're societies dedicated to historical research aimed at the enthusiastic amateur.

The Pike and Shot Society publish The Arquebusier for its members.

The Hobilar is similarly published by the Lance and Longbow Society.

Both also publish historical reference books. Some of which are of very high quality. They are for sale to non-members.

Partisan Press used to publish 'English Civil War Notes and Queries' – but I don't know if they still do (or if that really counts as 'renaissance')

The ECW is not really the Renaissance but posterior, this period is mainly associated to the XVIth century
Medieval Warfare Magazine despite its name had published 2 issues concerning XVIth century about
the German Peasants War and the 3rd (Ita) 4th & 5th (Fr) «League of Cambrai» (Eng, Spa) Italian War of 1508-1516 but unfortunately is and remains, as indicated, mainly a medieval magazine…

like Osprey they used to do polls for their topics and «Charles VIII and the First Italian War (1494-1498)» with 20.04% of the votes was beaten by two others topics
