I've been thinking about building a Syro-Canaanite army in 1/72 plastics. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a proper set. Looking through the web I found some other people in the same situation. They ended up using figures from different set's, like Sea Peoples, Hebrews, Troyans, Mittani, Egyptians, Beduins, Persians, Assyrians. My problem is, the enemy will be Sea Poeples, so those figures are no option. Any other advice from someone? I took a look at Newline Desings, but they have almost no pictures of their ancients ranges in 20mm and not all in 1/72. What's the difference between 20mm and 1/72 in the Newline Desings ranges, anyway? Can someone elaborate? Best regards and thank you for any ideas! |

I use their 20mm with my 1/72 colonials and they are a little shorter but can mix in the same unit without standing out. I don't have any of their 1/72 metals but have just figured that they are a little larger.. |

I think if you used Caesar's Mitannian chariot – which is mostly based on Egyptian visual depictions of enemies who might well have been Syrian anyway – with infantry from the Arab set, you'd be OK. Just don't use the Sea Peeps. |
