I like what I see on the TOS box. 10 miniatures, five species, with one of each gender being represented. Excellent variety, though I personally would have taken out the Denobulans and replaced them with more humans.

Iconic Villains seems like more of a mixed bag. If you want borg, it's got you covered 100%- Locutus, Lore, & the Queen. But as there are only 8 figures in the set, that doesn't leave much space for additional 'iconic villains'. I only really see Q and the Queen as begin very useful for players, as they were both reoccurring characters that could potentially be encountered by anyone, not just the ENT crews.

Overall, the TOS set seems like a welcome addition-I just wish the there were TOS-era Romulans and Klingons to go with them. At least there's a gorn for them to fight now.

The Villains one is not as good, IMO. Great (if pricey) if you like Borg, but a lot of the others seem like they are crying out for support from other kits which just don't exist yet. No other Dominion or Cardassian miniatures isn't great for Dukat, Khan and Chang really scream for a TOS-movie era starfleet set. No Romulans at all is a bit of a bummer for me personally, and considering that one could have easily filled an entire set with Klingon villains, its a shame that there aren't any TOS or TNG-era ones.

As a Star Trek fan, I'm quite looking forward to these sets. I might do some head swaps on the Denobulan figures. These figures will do battle with my Heroclix TOS Klingons and Romulans!

I can see the villains being mostly useful – the only one I don't see being useful is Khan. Locutus can stand in for another Borg, the Borg Queen always pops up, Lore could be restored or another Soong android, Chang works with the other Klingons for an earlier period and Dukat and the Gorn could be ambassadors/dignitaries. Of course Q could appear whenever.

Lots of potential here.

Both these sets look much better than the TNG bridge crew (Modiuphius really dropped the ball on that set). I would have liked to see TOS Romulans, TOS Klingons, and a full Cardassian set before the iconic villains, but I like the look of the villains anyway. Also love the TOS landing party set.

Until then, I use Heroclix Klingons and Romulans. They scale very well with Modiphius.

The villains look like they could be mostly one-piece castings, which is a good thing based my on past experience assembling Modiphius miniatures. As with all Modiphius minis, I find them to be way overpriced, too; I'll probably hunt around to get the best deal possible.
