Nice work. I saved up a number of pill bottles, to cover with labels with stone pillar textures printed on them. Would make nice columns, fast, and easy… I cut the first prototype, using an X-acto knife -- very dangerous to cut them like that, also difficult to keep the cut straight, and level. My band saw grabbed, and shattered, the plastic, when I tried cutting them. Asked my carpenter nephew if he thought a chop saw would do better: "Why don't you just use a wooden dowel?…" Pill bottles will go into the dumpster soon. I will be making use of his chop saw -- to cut up the 1-1/2" wide dowel I bought, into column-sized pieces. It is all about experimenting. Sometimes it works, sometimes it won't. Gotta try, though. Good luck! Cheers! |
