I am giving a final salute to my 1100 man 28mm ACW armies that I sold in the parking lot at Cold Wars like a crack dealer. I could not get all of them on a 4x6 table so I switched to 10mm. On to the next obsession…

Here is a photo I doctored up with a app on photobucket.

Wouldn't it have been easier to buy a bigger table?

He Probably would have to also knock down a wall or two and add foundation to expand the war room…. lol!
I agree along with putting them should to shoulder on smaller stands would have achieve a pretty good compromise.
But being a 10mmm ACW man myself… they are delightful!

Welcome to 10mm ACW Grossman!

I have done it twice before. I think it is the best scale for ACW.

Nice to see some wagons included!

The collection has grown to an impressive level.

Will you sell the 10mm next year for a 6mm obsession? You'll get much more on the table ;-)

GROSSMAN10 Apr 2019 10:56 p.m. PST

I will never do 6mm anything, I can barely see 10mm.
But thanks for putting that worm in my head.

out of curiosity, what was the maximum amount of 28mm figures you could field on a 6x4 table before you felt the game became too cramped?

This is what I did years ago.

10mm is a great scale for gaming.

If you can barely see 10s, why did you switch to them?

WARGAMESBUFF03 Oct 2019 4:18 a.m. PST

yep sold my 15mm and 6mm now love 10-12mm :)
Got nearly 3000 each side on FnF basing but 6-8 men a base in two ranks.
So many command stands left i did 1861 Confederate flags, 62-63 and western Hardee flags three armies for one.
