I have inquiry as to how folks are mounting their ~1:20 armies for this unique unit.
My understanding (& with weak resources- Osprey being the most direct on organization but weak none the less) is; there are 3 companies of the "grenadier" company drawn from each of the 2nd Btns of regiments from a division.
Each company with a grenadier/carbinier platoon and Lt infanty platoon ( name? skelzer?).
.: Each division supplying ~2 btns of 3 companies each.
The senior regiment of the brigade supplies the 1st co, the next regiment of the brigade, the second, and the senior jager supplying the 3rd. Repeating again for the next Brigade and jager regiment for the 2nd Btn..
In the typical attach column of Russian fashion, you have 1st co Gren/Lt, 2nd Gren/Lt and 3rd jager Carb/Lt. So when in line the Jager platoons would anchor each flank per the organization.
Thus the question as how does one mount.
a) with 1 stand of Gren 1 stand of line-Lts and 1 stand of jager?
b) with 2 stand of Gren/lt and 1 stand jager
c) in the platoons… so 6 smaller bases
d) Other? and what would it be?

thank you for your reply

I do 1/60 and have 6 figure battalions whereas my grenadiers and musketeers have 12 figures but post rate that out if you want. The combined gren batt were on the weak side.

I use the standard CLS organization: 2 companies from the line regiments, each with one grenadier platoon and one jaeger-grenadier platoon; and one company from the jaeger regiment, with one jaeger-grenadier platoon, and one elite tirailleur platoon. Note that I am not trying to use the Russian terms; I am using the CLS terms, because each troop type mentioned has specific capabilities in the rules.

Each company is 6 castings on 2 3-casting stands, so 18 castings for the battalion.

Hello, marshalGreg!
I surveyed this subject recently because the 2nd Combined Grenadier Division at Borodino was truly worthy of fullhearted admiring.
The Russian infantry regiments were of rated personnel which was 2400 for a regiment, 800 for a battalion, 200 for a company, 100 for a platoon. There was one Gren/Carb comp in a btn, which was divided into a Gren/Carb plat and a Strelki (or light infantry) plat.
The Gren comps of the 2nd btns from six regts in a division formed two combined Gren btns of the division. There were three comps in a combined Gren btn. So the rated personnel was 600 for a combined Gren btn, 2400 for a combined Gren brigd, 4800 for a combined Gren div.
But the actual personnel varied from this theoretical number. For example, the combined Gren btns of the 27th division joined the the 2nd Combined Grenadier Division just before the bloodshed at Borodino.
As far as mounting 1/20 is concerned, Grens/Carb and Strels are 15 each in a combined Gren btn. 5 Grens/Carb and 5 Strels are from the same regt, so they could be mounted on a large base. Or 6 smaller bases for platoons may be better…
Hope my survey would be helpful.

Matsukaze.

Referring to Nafziger's "Napoleon's Invasion of Russia" page 602 et seq for Borodino:
1st Converged Grenadier & 2nd Converged Grenadier battalion each with full strength establishment of 549 men (must be the hypothetical strength);
also says 2nd converged Grenadier Division 11 battalions at full strength = 6,039 men which equates to 549 men per battalion

Thanks F.T.!
So you are using a point "c" approach, with 6 stands scheme!?
(2 gren, 2 sktrelki and 1 jager carbinier + 1 jager Sktrelki, each with 3 figures =18 strong).

Are your regular units also in these stand/base configuration (would be 8 stands for these units) mounting scheme?
My goal is to reduce the number of stands/bases where I can but, not at the expense of getting to far from "close to actual condition/organizational look".
