I have seen lists that include the Queen's Rangers being part of the Corps de Reserve formed for the New York campaign in 1776, under the command of Lord Cornwallis.

I should be grateful for any detailed information confirming whether this was so.

What I have seen is that Cornwallis' command (Reserve Corps) for the New York campaign consisted of four battalions of grenadiers as well as the 33d and 42d foot (Black Watch).

I haven't yet seen a reference where the Queen's Rangers were assigned to that command. Their commander at the time was Robert Rogers and the Rangers were not considered a good unit. It wouldn't be until Wemyss and then Simcoe took command of the unit.

It was formed in August 1776.

What is your source that lists the Queen's Rangers as part of Cornwallis' command. I would suppose that Cornwallis and Rogers did not get along too well.
